'Doing the flowers'

My first love was nature. It inspires, heals and brings joy to every day.

​

After years spent teaching young children, I found myself thinking of open spaces, quiet corners and the need to re-connect with nature.

​

My floral creations are inspired by the flowers and foliage that each season brings,  creating floral arrangements that are a true reflection of what is happening on my cutting patch and in my garden. I also buy from trusted local flower farmers who grow on a larger scale, and understand my style, giving me a greater choice of flowers and foliage.

​

I use traditional techniques which gives a fluidity to arrangements and avoids the use of floral foam.

 

In addition to my own floral commissions, I work as a freelance florist, enjoying the variety this brings and making good friends along the way.

I am a member of 'Flowers from the Farm'. This nationwide organisation promotes a low carbon approach to floristry and supports small and independent flower growers and florists who take a 'slow' approach.
